No need to explain, a simple reply to this thread is enough. |

I quite like it as a song, but I'm not sure it works on The Invisible Band. It's not that it isn't consistent with the style or feel of the album because it is, but I think it's weirdly placed between Sing and Side - it kinda deadens the build-up that Sing creates. On the other hand to stick it on the end of the album would probably mean too many slower paced songs in a row... |

As nightshade descends like a veil under the sail of my heart.
Be still. Don't stop until the end.
Beautiful. Very poetic. I can see how English shows its linguistic beauty. Love TIB. :) |

I agree. It's one of my favorite Travis songs. Very beautiful... it matches very well with Fran's Voice. :) |

I agree with Luke. Although I used to really dislike it, I have grown to like it now. Its position on the album is totally weird though, between Sing and Side. :) |

Then kindly start your own Dear Diary hate thread. This one is for people who like the song. :) |

same here...
one person starts to listen TIB and finds "Sing" and, actually, starts to sing (out loud XD!), then the song finished and now is track 2, "Dear diary", all the feelings created in the previous song fall down in just one blow, the next step is "Side" and the atmosphere turns 180ยบ again... yeah, its position is extremely weird but that doesn't make it less beautiful, has a lovely lyric (it could have been a great b-side, I think) :) |

I like DD a lot, sometimes it fits your mood so perfectly. Beautiful lyrics.
IMO it's the best song out of the little group of Paperclips, Last Laugh of the Laughter, The Cage etc. |

I believe DD is a word play on David Duchovny's name/initials (from The-X-Files) as the next song Side is obviously an ode to Big Brother (1984/George Orwell) & UFOs. The latter I've seen heaps of: http://i678.photobucket.com/albums/vv142/neo1011/Image001.jpg whilst pleasuring my ex-GF to a John [Winston] Lennon song Woman Is The Nigger Of The World. |
