Walked into my local Starbucks today and was pleasantly surprised to see Last Words as the free download of the week for Starbucks!

Here's the card itself http://twitpic.com/1nfqc

Normally I'd say it reeks of record company involvement but... :S

Good question! Good promotion too.

If Travis are behind this, do you think they're planning on releasing it as a single? What else could be the reason that they're giving this song away for free?

0 points to Sweden from the United Kingdom. :P

A single is pretty much just a song to promote an album after all. And this is just a song they hope many people will hear and enjoy and therefore buy the album etc. I still doubt that we'll get another single.

Yeah maybe Starbucks just likes Travis and have already payed Travis enough money for the album, so they can do pretty much whatever they want with it? :)

They've probably come to some sort of agreement Alex. Even if they've not, it's good for the band anyway. But this doesn't mean it's about to be announced as the next single. :) Surely we'd know by now? We knew about Song To Self being the UK single over 3 months before it was released. Maybe they will if they plan on doing some summer festivals here. Release one around that time might be a good idea. Maybe. :) Quite Free with a great video would be nice. :)

Yeah that's probably true, I just got a bit too excited about it, but it's great that they get some promotion :)
