For Peru, a country that suffered so much violence and sadness, is wonderful have good news sometimes. Ok, I'm sure this is absolutely irrelevant for you (and I'm grateful for the time that you're taking for read this :D) but I want to share with you the joyful that peruvians are living now.

"The milk of sorrow" (original title: "La teta asustada") was the winner of the the coveted Golden Bear award for best picture at the Berlin film festival. This is first Peruvian film in a competition like this and the very fist time that a peruvian film wins a prestigious award (can you see now why is so important for us?)

The story goes around Fausta, the product of a rape inflicted on her mother during rebel violence. Fausta suffers a myterious illness and has to battle with her fears (Andean people believes that mothers raped transmit their traumas and fears through breast milk during lactation)

So, in the future,I hope you have a chance to see this movie and corroborate if this decision was good or not (I haven't saw this film yet, so I can't said anything about it but "Madeinusa", first Claudia Llosa's film, is brilliant and my expectations are high)

That's all
thanks for pay attention :)

I saw that on my local news...the Peruvians had a very worthy cause to celebrate. And it was indeed a moving and joyous moment for the producers and the directors of the film=) The director mentioned this after the victory "This is for Peru. This is for our country,"...I'm sure it was a very special moment for all Peruvians. Congrats on your inspiring victory=)

I would love to watch the movie and from your version of the movie's synopsis,it sounds really good!Thou its kinda hard to get access to some foreign movies here where I'm from..I'll probably get to track it down online in the near future..And when i finally do get a chance to watch it I'll let u know what i think;)Im a HUGE fan of great foreign films and I'm sure this one wouldn't disappoint.Especially so,it won the very prestigious Golden Bear award at the Berlin film festival!
