I don't really visit the board very often, but I heard via a facebook friend that some of you may be coming to Chicago for the Travis show. I threw together this list of a couple bars, a few restaurants and one record store within walking distance of the venue. Thought it might be helpful.
Matilda’s – super cute bar within stumbling distance of the Vic. My fave bar in the area. Fyi I don’t think their sign has their name on it, just a yellow exclamation mark.
3010 N. Sheffield (walk S on Sheffield)
773.883.4400
Duke of Perth – Scottish pub with an insane-o huge-o malt list and a pretty decent beer list too.
2913 N. Clark St. (walk E on Belmont to Clark, S on Clark just past Oakdale)
773-477-1741
Art of Pizza Inc – great great great deep dish pizza (the Tribune’s best pizza in Chicago), not the best service, but remember that it’s a humble little joint
3033 N Ashland Ave (W on Belmont to Ashland, S on Ashland past Barry)
773-327-5600
Noon O' Kabab – Amazing Persian food, but its probably a cab ride rather than a walk from the Vic. Or if you take the El it’s the Brown Line Train - Kedzie stop
4661 N. Kedzie Ave.
Kuma’s Corner – burgers named after metal bands, what more could you ask for??
2900 W. Belmont Ave (could take a cab - its probably a couple miles W on Belmont)
773-604-8769
Reckless Records – great record store, minus all the hipsters.
3157 N. Broadway (E on Belmont to Broadway, S on Broadway, store on the left)
773-404-5080
Wrigleyville bars are fun too and also walking distance. Lots of them are at the intersection of Clark & Addison.

Just realized, I would be remiss to not give you a Chicago style hot dog place. My fave is Hot Doug's - about 2.5 miles from the Vic. Yum! |

So what you're saying is that is a good place to find a tasty wiener? |
