Seeing as the 1911 Census was released yesterday, it spurred me and my dad to carry on with our family tree. We've done pretty well seeing as out family haven't really moved out of this area since the 1800s! But late last night we felt like following a branch of my grandma's side looking at her grandfather who we knew went through Ellis Island at one point. I found that you can browse the log books of Ellis Island online for free, which is amazing seeing as most ancestry sites make you pay just to browse!
Anyway, i managed to find my dad's great grandfather, great grandmother and their children. However, when looking at the records for why the person has travelled to America, we can't quite make out what it says. So i was wondering whether you guys could take a look and see what you think:
