This is where I'll be informing you all on any updates/additional info about the Song Showdown process. This is also where you can talk about Song Showdown, ask questions etc.
FIRST UPDATE: All votes must be in by 9:00pm (GMT) today (Tuesday). This is the deadline, and any votes after this period will not be considered!
This is to make way for an extra round, which will start at just after 9:00pm tonight. This will be a ‘resurrection’ round – the chance to vote for one song out of the 31 defeated songs of Round 1. The song you guys vote for will be brought back and given a second chance. This is necessary in order to get 32 songs. Once we have 32, it'll divide nicely into 16,8,4,2,1.
SECONDLY, I have counted up most of the votes so far in round 1. However votes from some people have not been counted: Safeside, you haven't chosen a song in several of your answers; Monkey, you need to choose in battle 16; and Dutchgirl...um I just don't think you understood it lol. You have to choose one of the two songs in each of the 31 battles, not just pick 31 songs randomly. 
If you edit and update your posts before 9 tonight I'll count them. As it stand I've not counted any of your answers 'cos I like to keep things even - giving votes in some battles and not others confuses things.

Cheers for fixing it, your votes have now been registered. 
By the end of round 1 I'll have 31 songs, and I did consider adding one b-side to make it 32. But then it's a question of which b-side, and it seems a bit unfair to just pick one. I purposefully didn't incorporate b-sides into this because all together there would probably be at least 150 songs and that'd be getting stupid – I don’t think people could be bothered with going through 70 pairs of songs. Plus a b-side exclusive Song Showdown could always be in the pipeline for the future. I think it'll be ok this way. It gives a chance for a popular song to get back into the game that was just unlucky in the pairing process. |

I could bore you with the history of the Song Showdown (TM) legacy. I think this is the third proper one so far, but we also had an Olympic special one too lol. Hmm I wonder if the same song will win this time around... |

Well the songs themselves are all the album tracks and/or singles. I paired them randomly by putting them all on a playlist and hitting shuffle. I think I mentioned it in my babble of the round 1 post. :) |

I'm thinking about a b-side one yeah, but not in the near future. Song showdowns are special - they only come once in a blue moon. |

| 40 minutes till the deadline. And we have ties in two battles! Now in past Song Showdowns I've cast the deciding vote. Seeing as I don't properly vote in the thing myself anyway, it's fair I reckon. That ok with everyone? Not that I'll listen if it's not. It's MY competition. lol. |
