It's too complicated as to how these various conversations came about but I've discovered something. Apparently a slang term that is used here and in Canada is perhaps not widely known in the UK (if at all) and does not have a Spanish or Polish counterpart.

So I have two questions:

1) Have you heard the term blueballs?
2) If you speak a language besides English, do you have a term for this?

Definition. It's dirty. You've been warned.

^^ I agree!!! One more reason to add to the list.

I think it's one of the most educational things in English I've learnt thanks to this board :oP

oh, urbandictionary.com

this has nothing to do w/ blueballs (of which i HAVE heard of, but i'm American so it doesn't count), has anyone looked up their name on that website? my husband's is amazingly accurate to an embarrassing degree; therefore i cannot post it. however, i will post mine:
Liz: is the only girl that only wants a simple quest of a soft warm cookie and a cold glass of milk.
Liz wants chocolate chip btw.
the other 6 definitions were not even close, but still entertaining. it is interesting to see what other ppl are like who have your name. or at least what other ppl think of those who have your name.

I'm a lifelong English speaking US citizen, and I have never heard that term. Anne must hang out with a nasty crowd.

No pictures but graphic words.

I truly am surprised there isn't a term for this in various languages.

But I am not surprised Kayte hasn't heard this term as she is so good, whereas I am reformed (but only slightly) good.

I did look up my name on urbandictionary and they are all funny in their own way. #3 is my favorite:

1) An attractive and classy young woman who lives up to the simple beauty of her name.
Boy #1: How come you didn't take that hot chick home with you last night to bang?
Boy #2: No man, Anne isn't like that. You just don't dick around with girls like her.

2) to take a shortcut or shorter route on the way to a destination.
I took an anne on the way to the mall yesterday.

3) A name in which you are very unfortunate to have if you are under the age of 50.
dont go to sleep without your bedpan tonight anne
