    | I have a couple of nominations for this...
Citade de Deus (City of God) - an absolutelyharrowing and brutal look at life in the flavelas(slums) of Rio de Janerio

Betty Blue 37.2 le Matin - a man meets a beautiful but seriously unhinged woman and does everything he can to make her happy but ultimately fails as she's a bit of a loony

Spirited Away - Japanese animated Alice in Wonderland type, like the fairytales of old quite dark in places.

    | forgot about Amelie, I haven't seen Pan's Labyrinth yet but I am looking forward to doing so. Crouching Tiger is an amazing visual feast of colours and cinematography. House of Fying Daggers is woth a look also if you like the Mandarin films

Les Choristes is beautiful!! I have the soundtrack and I'm always singing all the songs! Lol!

I think that most part of the films exhibited in argentinian theatres are in English, secondly in Spanish and thirdly in French. So since most of the films I watch are in a foreign language, it's too hard to choose a few.

    | Double post, sorry.
Nueve Reinas is a good argentinian film. However, Leticia Bredice's acting skills ruin it a bit.
El Abrazo Partido, Historias Mínimas are also great.

And for me every American or English film is automatically foreign! It's impossible to choose one but Tim Burton films are my favorites.
