Travis Web Team, This picture should be added to the Tour Archive for T In The Park 1994.
It also states that they played the Aberdeen University Union on Friday 28th October 1994.
This was before Dougie joined the band, as it says 'five-piece', which means with the Martyn brothers.
So they were called Travis as far back as 1994.
This arcticle is an amazing piece of Travis history.
Is this the earliest newspaper picture of Fran?

Thanks very much. :) Interesting.
And of course for people who've not seen it, here's a very early video of Turn: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=UMnQBCVluHs |

Did anyone go to T In The Park 1994 and saw Glass Onion/Travis there?
What was the exact date so that the Web Team can add it to the archive please?
T in the Park - Highlights through the years
"1994
The inaugural T in the Park. A fantastic line up, great support from the artists and an amazing reaction from the crowd. Rage Against the Machine, Bjork and Cypress Hill were on the Main stage and an incredible lineup of Blur, The Manic Street Preachers, Pulp and Oasis all packed into the King Tut’s Tent. Robbie Williams turned up to hang out and play football and Oasis proclaimed that this was their best ever performance. An unknown band called Glass Onion – who later changed their name to Travis - played the New Talent Stage."
So the name change from Glass Onion to Travis must have happened between July - October 1994, the date of the arcticle. |

Ooh, a Travis artefact. I find the bit where it talks about the upcoming 1995 debut album interesting. The album that never was I guess... we could've had a very different Travis today if they'd stayed a five piece and released a first album two years earlier. |
