I've been listening 12 Memories a lot these days (redisconvering it) and I have to say I'm a little puzzled about the meaning of that song. It's so sad and straightforward at the same time.
Any clues? I have some theories but perhaps the more experienced boradies have "la posta" (como diríamos en Argentina) or the truth : )

Im sure that the song is about Frans relationship with his absent father. With the meaning of the line " I dont wanna see your face at my door, And i'll never leave like you, thats for sure", meaning he wont do what his dad did to his own offspring. |

Paperclips is a great song! It's so bare and stripped down it really shows off Fran's amazing vocal performance on it |

Yes, I think the same you do. At least I feel it that way because I had a terrible relationship (if we can call it like that...) with my absolutely absent father, so that song goes directly to my heart :o(. The first time I heard it I actually cried, but since that issue is not anymore an issue I rather enjoy this brilliant song :o).
I agree 12 Memories is great album :o). |
