anyone else agree? I've officially given up on them, waste of talent. new songs are absolutely diabolical! not one good guitar riff, not one singalong chorus which lives up to their first two albums. so disappointed (once again).. In my opinion u2 are the only band who make consistently good albums. |

U2 are alright, but personally I think all their songs kinda sound the same. And I really like the new Oasis album. |

I actually like their new album.
Plus U2 are the most overrated band in the history of music. |

no they're not, they're not the greatest band either but they have been making good albums for a long time
as for oasis, they stopped making good music a long time ago
that's why they have tried changing hairstyles, look, sound |

Think you'll find that's called getting older. |

I've not got the Oasis album yet, but I skimmed through most of the songs on MySpace. A couple sound good, but can't say it excited me enough to make me run out and buy the album.
And U2, well I only have The Joshua Tree and How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb but they're both really cool albums (I actually like the latter better, just to be controversial :P). |

I haven't listened to any of it apart from Shock of the Lightening. I think Oasis have got to that stage where fans are loyal, which is all good, but they're not doing anything to really push the boat out and get new fans excited about their direction. I like their first 2 albums, and a couple off the last album though. |

I was never really a huge U2 fan, but always liked the popular songs from the radio: One, With Or Without You, Mysterious Ways...then I met my boyfriend. He's a huge U2 fan and got me listening to all their stuff. I really, really like them a lot now, and while I don't think they're the greatest band on Earth, I respect their talent and how much they've inspired other bands, etc. They have so many great songs and I agree that they're albums never disappoint.
I also really like Oasis, but I don't own any of their albums and don't really plan on getting the new one. I liked Shock Of The Lightning, but I heard another song off the album recently and it was a real snoozer...don't remember the name of it...something about Time.
I've noticed that Oasis like to sing "tiiiiime" and "miiiind" a LOT in their songs. Anyone else notice that? lol.

I agree. Their sound has always been cool, but they don't really evolve or push the envelope. People get bored of hearing the same stuff over and over. That's why I love and have so much respect for Travis. They always maintain that unique Travis sound, but can change it up from album to album, and Ode is a perfect example of that.

The first 2 albums are 5 star classics. Amazing, great albums. 3rd's songs are too long etc but it could have been great. The following 2 were poor with only a few good songs between them. But Don't Believe The Truth and Dig Out Your Soul are both really good. :) Liam's writing some good tunes now but Noel is still the man. :) Like Travis, I think the future is bright for Oasis. :) |

Yeah, that's the name of it. Maybe I just need to listen to it again, but when I heard it on the radio, I felt the song just sorta went all over the place. |

I'm Outta Time! Tribute to John Lennon. Liam's songwriting skills are really improving. |
