Your opinion, will we ever get tired of the 80's and 80's style,80's music,80's toys, 80's shows, everything 80's,what was it about that decade that made it so special???

Personally,I love it, everything about it, so last night as i listened to Keane's take on 80's music, perfect symmetry,i felt perfectly at home,it's freakin great!

By the way, we did have the best toys ever,transformers,he-man,smurfs,voltron,robotech,munchichi etc...etc...

I dare anyone from any other generation to dispute that

Oh yeah,good morning:-)

I was a child of the 80's...

THEY WERE FUCKING SHIT !!!!!!!

I lived my life in a state of terror at the time (no exaggeration I was fucking scared)

Bros, Angry Young Britian, Rubik's Cube, Brixton Riotsa, Wham, Bananarama, Nuclear Terror, The Cold War, Rick Ashley, Greed is Good, Thatcher, Yuppies, Porsche, the Poll Tax, When the Wind Blows, Duran Duran, The difference between Rich and Poor, The Miner's Strikes, Black Tuesday.

Do not fucking start on this subject, the grass is always greener in hindsight, I lived through it, it was fucking hell !!!!

It wasn't World War 3.... It was just the threat of World War 3 constantly hanging there.

I'm guessing the closest thing you guys would have experienced over the pond would be the hieghtend sense of alert after 11th September, where everyone and everything was a threat, imagine being 10years old and not fully understanding but living in a state of constant fear, I used to have nightmares aboutying in a nuclear attack, and to relieve my fears the government in there infinate wisdom sent a booklet to every household in the UK about what to do in such an event.

ok, yeah that would have sucked, and you're right, the closest thing, since I've been alive to that for us was 911. I don't know what else to say except that I understand why you feel the way you do about the 80's,didn't mean to bring back any bad memories for anyone. i was thinking about the music, style and such when posting this. do you have any pleasant memories at all about that time?

I was also born in 1980 and I generally think of it as a good decade. Maybe I was just too young to really get what was going on.

The only 'horror' I remember from that decade was when my mum told me about the Wall. I don't remember my exact question but I still remember how she told me that in those countries, people could not say what they thought and that if they tried to cross the border, they would get shot. It was beyond my comprehension how anything could be like that.
