I think it's good to see one of Dougie's songs released as a single. He's come up with some excellent song in the past (the distance, colder... etc.) and he's finally been rewarded with a single to his name.
as for the song itself, I think it's quite good. it tends to get better wth every listen, which means most, who will hear the song on the radio or on TV once, will be put off and decide they don't like it.
i must have heard it about 50 times by now and although its some way off travis' best work, and considerably far behind song to self, its an excellent song in it's own right.

with the response to the boy with no name, and after not really rating J smith to much and first impressions of something anything i didn't hold up too much hope. but both songs have really grown on me, and having heard samples of all the other songs on last.fm and watching live performances of them on youtube I can't wait for ode to j. smith to arrive on tuesday and to go and see them in sheffield the tuesday after.
i'm not going to say back to their best because i think theyve been at their best consistently for a long time, just theyve reached and past the height of their fame.
