Awwww man! Bob Costas was announcing and he said some flakc about how we were watching the latest in technology because it was live, but it was in cinematic view, you know? It looked like a live movie. I forgot how many footsteps they had, but they said they had them leading all around Beijing up to the bird's nest. And then at the end of the so-called cinema scope they cut away and then showed a footprint in live feed over the bird's nest so that's why I thought it was real... shucks.

The article I read said that they really did do those fireworks but it was just too difficult and potentially dangerous to film it so they did the animation thing.

yes, i mean, china took advange of it, figure that there are summer olympics games in mexico, we would use mayan, aztec culture, etc, but inventions... mmmhh... does the "tortilla machine" counts ??? i don't think so,,,,
