I have a preference for weird names :P my favourites are Corin, Septimus, Remus (yeah, the one from Harry Potter. So what?), Byron and Aristide. I wouldn't actually call my kids any of those, because I'm a classic example of having a wierd name in a country where people aren't used to it. In my case, people are used to it, but only in the sense of "Your name's Kylie? What, like Kylie Minogue?" And I can't tell you how sick of that I am.)
More normal favourites are Jonathan, Kilian , Stephen, James, Timothy, Oscar, Liam and Noel (not because of the Gallagher brothers, only because I like the names). And that's just boys. :P
I don't have that many favourite girls names, I just like old-fashioned sounding ones that make me think of the country. Like Lily or Lilian. My mum's full name is Helen Frances May, which I think is lovely (and might steal if I ever have girls :P ). |
