"I was walking along in the sun
Taking pictures of everyone
And there's something on the tip of my tongue" (Walking in the Sun)
"There is no design for life
There's no devil's haircut in my mind
There is not a wonderwall to climb
Or step around
Yeah there is a slideshow
And it's so slow
Flashing through my mind" (Slide Show)
"Now it don't snow here
It stays pretty green
I'm gonna make a lotta money
And I'm gonna quit this crazy scene
I wish I had a river I could skate away on" (river is a cover I know but it really describes me.I mean I've never seen a real snow!)
And especially:
"The little people
had very little left to say
their words had all been shortened
It didn't really seem important
And I thought I saw you
But it was just another face
Plastered on a blank horizon
running in the human race (3 Times and You Lose)

"Closer, closer.. lean on me now, lean on me now".
I sang it at once at the job (maybe I was ridiculous, but I needed to do it) |

Whatever happens in my life, it makes me think about a song. It's like making your own soundtrack (it may sounds crazy, but I always think like that)... Maybe not everything, but many things have their song in my life, and many times it's a Travis song.
The one I try to remember everyday is Happy: "I'm so happy, 'cause you're so happy", it's like a mantra, something you have to repeat everyday to feel that way.
(am I so crazy?) |

I really like this thread.
I can relate to most of the songs/parts everyone named.
The last one that put a smile on my face when I first heard it because I thought "this is me" was "you keep the chocolate biscuits wired to a car alarm". Chocolate biscuits are my downfall. |

gives such a vivid picture of that very feeling of having one's heart broken to pieces... |

Well it's easy to see from afar
And it's easy to be on your guard
But it's harder just to be who you are
Uh-huh-oo-uh-huh |

There are so many amazing words in their songs I could never choose because every song gives me something special. All I know is that I am so thankful for them as muscicians that they have created such wonderful songs and have written such amazing lyrics. And when my life fell apart their music and words held me up, gave me hope and helped me put all the peices back together again. I am not someone who seeks out the famous for autographs or such, but it will always be my hope that one day I will get to shake each one of them by the hand and thank them for touching my life in such a powerful way. I pray they continue making the sweetest of music for many many years to come.
Thanks boys

mine's
"And I feel safe, I feel so brave
I'm not afraid of anything they've got to say
If you're okay, because your tucked away
Don't go astray
You've got to be just who you are, who you are"
It reminds me to be gentle with myself. Because most of the time, im hard on myself and i have the habit of comparing myself with others. 'till i realized there will always be a person greter and lesser than me. (And that's OK)

This thread was great so lets bring it back! =)
I was just reminded of how much I love Happy To Hang Around...
"No I'll never get in to your heart, no I don't even want to start, I'm just happy to hang around"
Isn't that pure genious?
Those words speak to my heart like nothing else does. |

Great thread.
"Take all the goods from all the bads" has become an anthem for me these days.
Apart from that, I love:
"And ever since a long time
I felt the rain
And there was no danger
And no more strangers"
"A quite alarming knack
Of knowing when to twist the knife"
"Shine a light on me
So that everyone can see
That I want to stay here
Indefinitely"
"Home is where the heart is
But your heart had to roam
Drifting over bridges
Never to return
Watching bridges burn"
And on, and on, and on... : )
