Go me! My "John Doe" theory might be right after all, and that was before the lyrics were even posted. :) |

Its kinda got a special meaning for me cus I've just been sacked by a J Smith!! ....(I'm not the type to go quietly haha)
Ode to J Smith = Explosion!
you should sing your own j. smith version, it would be interesting to see it :)
LOL - yes but looking at the tracks - Long Way Down , Broken Mirror, Get Up, Last Word, Before You Were Here ....Theres only 'Punch Your Lights Out' missing so I could sing that heehee
Haha, all dedicated to Mr. J. Smith, now i understand the title :) |

Maybe J. Smith could be "the man who", member of "the invisible band" and the father of "the boy with no name", could be the answer of some questions we asked ourselves before, lol
sorry that was not funny at all |

actually i thought it was the boy with no name who becomes a man, and still haven't a name, and because of it, everybody calls it "john smith" . well in a joke sense, not as a possibility :) |

I think everyone here must have missed the fourth post of this thread:
I said..........
"Oooo very interesting find!!
When I first saw that one of the new Travis songs was titled "J. Smith" I thought about how common a name it is. Maybe J. Smith is like "John Doe"...he's the "boy with no name" if you will. Maybe he represents "the man who" or that "invisible" person out there that could be any one of us. Kind of along the lines of it's about the music and not about the people behind it.
Or I could be completely wrong, LOL!" |

Ok, probably I'm late but...
A friend of mine just translated the latin verse for me...
And it's something like this:
Hail, pious soul
Now your work has come to the end
But, for the Gods, back off!
I can't see the name/a name anywhere
Satan is pleased to see you
with coal in your ass for the eternity!
And yes... "Culo" it's Ass XD
Ok... Let's say thanks to my friend. :P
Thanks friend. XD

I'd put Something Anything in the other group for sure. Long Way Down is a definite single! Will be disappointed if it isn't. Song To Self should be a single too. Maybe Get Up. Unsure about Friends though. |
