Wasn't it Abba time and Thomson Twins, Al Stewart ( Year of the Cat Wow), Phil Collins, Annie lennox, Fleetwood Mac.
Grey matter working now -
Which reminds me I heard Vanessa Paradis Joe le Taxi the other day - I really digged that!
Thomson Twins (my sister was really into them), i missed Fleetwood then got inot them later in the 90's, I was the time of lots of one hit wonders - Black and sweetest smile comes to mind
me and hubby spent about an hour last night stopping each other going to sleep as names of groups kept popping into our heads and we felt obliged to shoult them out -
so in no particular order (nor even any order of liking as he liked some i didn't)
The Pretenders, Elvis Costello, XTC, Joy Division, Squeeze, ELO, Abba, Gary Numan, Michael Jackson, The SPecials, James, Lionel Richie, Fun Boy 3, Kate Bush, OMD, Peter Gabriel, Pink Floyd, Queen, Status Quo, Teardrop Explodes, UB40, Culture CLub, Duran Duran, Spandau Ballet, New Order, Kylie, Big COuntry, Billy Idol, Crowded HOuse, Tears for Fears, Scritti Politti, Frankie Goes to Hollywood, Prince, Simple Minds, The Bangles, loyd Cole, Happy Mondays, Stone ROses, That Petrol Emotion, The Waterboys, Heaven 17, Kim Wilde and i could go on.
Is it nostalgia creeping in or did there seem to be more groups around in those days? Or maybe i just fade out those i don't like nowadays? Lots more one hit wonders in the 90's i reckon
