I was going by the harold rosenberg discription of the artist as boxer stepping up to the canvas like a fighter in the ring , i think he was reffering to Franz Kline though

Well, Neil and Andy were unfortunate enough to be born with names that cannot spawn a pun. Fran and Dougie, were both born with pun-worthy last names, and somehow found each other for the sake of forming a band, AND so their fans could turn their last names into bad puns. :)

oh goodie! glad you are well-versed with abstract expressionists and their critics. i wrote a paper about them, seen art exhibitions. this would be a good topic while in line for travis at the fillmore.
