They are the worst biscuits possible! lol

Discuss the claim they are biscuits.

The whole cake/ biscuit debate is for tax purposes! But in my eyes they are def biscuits!

At present the Jaffa Cake is classified as a cake but the British government is attempting to get it reclassified as a biscuit. This would mean it would come under a higher tax bracket as biscuits aren't as perishable as cakes, or something technical like that

They are cakes! Jaffa Cakes go hard when they are stale. Cakes go hard when stale and biscuits go soft, therefore they are cake!

Hmmm interesting point there. lol. Well I think I prefer them to be classed as cakes as they will be cheaper and my boyfriend is obsessed with them so he wouldnt be too happy if the price went up! They just look too much like biscuits though =D

I realize this topic is rather old...but I found a place in the states that sells Jaffa cakes for anyone who is interested. They sell them in Cost Plus- a chain import store. I was so excited to see them. And they are quite tasty!

Yes.. I need to try these as well, but I've never seen them anywhere in Canada so yeah. The thing is, the way they look is as if I've tried them before. I've seen a lot of cookies that look like that, but I guess they're no Jaffa Cake?
