How exactly do you cross examine yourself? Do you have a sock puppet playing the attorney?

LMAO!! The scenario was strange enough in itself, but the sock puppet image is just brilliant!!

Jury duty kicks ass....I've missed it about 4 times because of being out of state at school or on business.....finally got to do it a few years ago. I was the foreman and got to say, "GUILTY!!!"...drunk driving bastard....

I then was selected 8 months later to go down to Federal court for jury selection, but the wife was having some minor surgery and I had to opt out during the selection process....I REALLY wanted to do that one...get some week long murder trial...that would be so kewl!

I wouldn't mind doing it once for the experience. Wouldn't want anything too grizzly though. Also would HATE to be put on some high profile thing.

You sound like my husband. He enjoys jury duty and always volunteers to be the foreman.

Someone enjoys jury duty?

Moz, I can totally see you accepting your jury duty responsibilities to the fullest.

he sat there in the stand and asked himself a question, " well mr dougherty etc........... " . then he'd answer .

i swear his eyes rolled to the back of his head when he did this . For those who need to know , the prosecutor was kinda hawt . I let the judge know i was hostle to the defendant but she told me i was still on it. Everyone on the jury had a college degree . they asked everyone about their education

Ugh jury duty. I spent the first week of my winter vacation there. They really don't take many excuses. Although the pretending like you don't understand the question/avoiding questions sounds like it might get you voted out. The one I had involved a family dispute and an assault against a police officer so they got rid of anyone who had a family member in any kind of law enforcement.

My mom was up for a trial involving a domestic assault. She got the sense that she was going to be picked. Then they sent them out of the room for a few minutes. When they came back in the judge declared a mistrial and she was excused!

All she can think of is that the defendant's lawyer said something about the guy having no record and the prosecution objected and they had a huddle a few minutes before they sent them out of the room.

So maybe the lawyer "tainted" the pool by saying that? That's her best theory but she doesn't care because she didn't want to serve right now anyway.
