The convenience store near our house is also walking distance from a middle school (grade 6-8). They only allow one student at a time in the store because they were so out of control.
But I guess you can't really do that in a library! |

Hi Helen, from one librarian to another I know EXACTLy what you mean!!! I swear I feel like smacking them sometimes especially as some kids are sooooooooo rude and cheeky and wind me up something shocking lol But I have learnt to just chill and take no crap from them.
Other work colleagues know now that I won't take their crap and as soon as they are off I will be over swiftly and chucking them out.
One good thing was when that happened to me before, I knew one of the wee lads from coming in when he was younger. A quick phonecall to his mum to explain and that sorted that out! Oh and I threaten the others about ringing their parents or the police. Nightmare!
Generally our kids are pretty good tho, which is such a blessing!!!
Keep up with the library rants! I love them and could do my own blog in here!!! LOL
Oh did I mention one of my kids from a Class Visit chucked up all over the floor in the library when I was teaching them about Non-Fiction! Ummmmmm pink and white goo all over the place! Sweet! :)
I Love my job! lol |

Well they were back in today! But now they've taken to asking for my phone number and asking how old i am etc. They're still i pain but i keep answering them back, especially when they say stuff under their breath. They'll give up soon when the person i usually work with comes back. She's about to retire too but she's like a bull dog! |
