That is of course also a way to tackle it. However, I've lost almost 10kg over the last months, so I'll have to get out there at some point *sigh*
buy stuff with rubber in it...it adapts to the body |

Ah yes, of course. I'll just go round looking like a bondage queen. Who cares about my image, as long as the clothes are tight, right?

The shops say that they do it because it 'reflects reality'. However, if you're usually a size M and you put on some weight, and you're still size M - then you don't have to face the fact that you've gained weight.
Plus, if not all clothes brands have adapted their sizes, buying clothes will get even more confusing.
i found a way to avoid all this since i stopped buying clothes
you stopped buying clothes ?? lol

Btw why do they have such small numbers in the US ?? to deceive yourself ? lol
Of course! Clothing manufacturers know that people buy clothes when they feel good about themselves. Sad but true. Once upon a time, the smallest US size was 2. Then they added 0. Now there's a 00! Are people really getting smaller? Seems to defy history. |

I'm a 10 bordering on a 12, depending whether I'm on a diet yet again. Which can be a wee bit a nuisance

Well, of course we like to deceive ourselves.
Maybe some of it has to do with the metric system or something. In the US, bra sizes are measured in inches. When my mom moved to Germany, she found bra sizes were measured in centimeters. When we found out her new HUGE bra size, she burst out laughing! |

It's the same for me, in Mens clothing that is. I'll be an XL in some clothes (mostly Primark) and then elsewhere i'll be a Large or a Medium. The Travis merchandise is usually made by the same company, and i know a Large fits me well in that ;)
As for trousers, well they're a nightmare. For some reason, the shops seem to stock every trouser size except for a 36-34!! |
