Sounds like a great idea...but how would it work? That would be so hard to do. Unless you just did the chorus of each album track or something like that. But that doesn't really make all that much sense as some of the best lyrics are in the verses of many Travis songs. Unless you wanna call it a Travis chorus showdown...I don't know! :P
I would have to choose lyrics to start off with, which would be contentious, and against the showdown's fairness policy!
It could be a song showdown for the song with best lyrics, I suppose. That would be a huge showdown! Let me know if there's any way it might work!
I guess you could just choose and post your list of lyrics just as Luke posted his B-side and cover contenders and then before the actual showdown starts if anyone has any objections to certain lyrics they feel are better in a particular song they can state their case. If no one has any objections let the game begin! :O)
EDIT: If you're doing the whole song and not picking out a certain line of lyrics that's a whole different thing..lol. Which, I think it what you mean after reading your post a second time? |

Oh, Luke...are you putting the B-sides and covers together, or making two separate showdows?
I plan to chuck them all in together. I was tempted at one point not to use covers at all, 'cos I like the idea of voting for songs purely written by Travis. It's kind of more a celebration of Travis' songwriting that way. But then to do that is to discard the likes of River and Baby One More Time, which I couldn't make myself do. :p
So, for the people who'd prefer this be about original songs, simply don't vote for the covers and they'll get filtered out pretty quickly. Other than that, there shouldn't be a problem with putting them all into the competition on equal footing. |

Yeah, it still feels a bit like I'd be forcing choices on people, but it might be the only way.

I think picking a line or phrase from each album track. But it's your showdown so do which ever you feel would be best! :) |

Thanks for the confidence, I'm not sure it's deserved! :)
I might give it a go after the proper showdown has gone ahead. |

Hi, ok thanks for that, I'll take Say Hello off...even though it is awesome. :(
p.s. don't you come jumping in at every opportunity with your poxy b-side vote. You just can't compete with the real deal. |
