Well funny you should ask....I'm assessing the effects of a big earthquake in the bay area sometime in the not so distant future. It's not looking too good.
I hate writing scientific papers...maybe I should change my major.
I was outta state when the 89 one happened
that was quite lucky |

my sister and her husband were there on vacation when that one happened. We are expected to have a massive one here in Salt Lake one day. We have mini ones all of the time which is good right? I finally felt my first one last year. |

I think I'd rather have earthquakes. Dealing with tornado warnings would be scary. How often do you get them? |

Sounds complicated. What's your major?
I'd like to know that myself :) I'm technically animal biology because I thought I wanted to go to vet school and after working all summer in a vet hospital I'm not too sure if I can handle it.
So I think I am going to switch to environmental science and policy, hence the geology essay.
How about yourself? What was your paper about?
P.S. Sorry for hijacking your thread Lauren!
Yess!! I'm sorry too Lauren. It was all my fault, I started talking about my lack of sleep.
My paper was about politics in Argentina and the latest presidential elections. I study sociology :o)
We don't get earthquakes or tornados in Buenos Aires. Floods in some areas maybe, but nothing massive.

Uh, mostly in the spring. They don't really come where I live that often. They mostly go through wide open areas... like farms. I've never actually lived through one. |

Funny that I actually read this thread. There was a small earthquake around these parts last night. I didn't feel it cos I was sleeping soundly, but the hubby did. Now I am all sorts of paranoid cos I've never been through one. I know they are rare around here, but I'm sooo paranoid. I've been through hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, and blizzards, but never an earthquake. I spent about an hour surfing the web getting educated. Paranoia is a BITCH! :) |

Lol, I get scared whenever there's a thunderstorm! England's a pretty tame place :)
