AWWW SHAUN-DE LEES-EHHHH!

We had to sing it too! At least that's how I sang it. Give me a break... I was ten.

"I Wanna Have your Babies," by Natasha Bedingfield: The first and only time I've heard this song was in the movie theatre before POTC. The movie sucked, this song sucks. I prayed to god that it wouldn't surface on American radio, and so far my wish has come true. I mean, c'mon, the lyrics are, I wanna have your babies, I see them springin' up like daisies... My gawd...

"Lips of an Angel," Hinder: If you don't like your girlfriend that much, then break up with her and go off with this supposed mystery woman. Sheesh.

Anything by Nickelback, Nickelback: Ahem, let me demonstrate. In the song Rockstar he talks about how, "We'll all stay skinny cause we just won't eat." But then in the next verse he talks about how he'll sign some autographs so he can get his meals for free (this lyrics is accompanied by a background lyrics which goes, "I'll have the quesadilla)... wait... didn't you just say you won't eat? And are you too cheap to pay for a quesadilla?

More to come... :)

I heard Nickleback's "Rockstar" on the radio the other day for the first time. Needless to say it scared me from turning on the radio for a few weeks.

I posted my post before I got through the whole thread, so I didn't read Lindsey's take on Rockstar...

I know a French song! Well, it was an educational tape that we had at school when we were about 11. It went: *clears throat and begins to sing*
'Quelle est la date de ton anniversaire?
Quelle est la date de ton anniversaire?'

... and continued in much the same way for quite some time before finishing.

Le quinze mars! Et tu?

Le quatorze janvier, personalement.

And, I know a lot of people will disagree with me, but I can't stand Hotel California. *shudders* That song drives me up the wall.

Dave Barry a book called "Book of Bad Songs" that is so funny. McArthur Park by Richard Harris was voted the worst by his readers (Donna Sommers did a disco version). I don't know if I could pick one (there are so many Nickelback songs that sound the same) but McArthur Park is def near the top. Sample lyrics:

MacArthur Park is melting in the dark
All the sweet, green icing flowing down
Someone left the cake out in the rain
I don't think that I can take it
'Cause it took so long to bake it
And I'll never have that recipe again
Oh, noooooooooooooooooooooooo!
(I added the ooooos but there are about 20 of them per chorus)

A cake in the rain? Yes, we all can relate to that. My mom tried to defend this song. She had the album. She put it on and was trying to explain her emotional connection to it. Being a good daughter I just laughed in her face.

Dakota, I agree with you on the Heart song. I've hated that since the first time I heard it.

Also the book mentions a book about a mining disaster where two of them end up eating the third guy. It's called "Timothy" and it's by the Buoys. Never heard it but the lyrics are:

Trapped in a mine that had caved in
And everyone knows the only ones left
Were Joe and me and Tim
When they broke through to pull us free
The only ones left to tell the tale
Were Joe and me

Timothy, Timothy, where on earth did you go?
Timothy, Timothy, God why don't I know?

Hungry as hell no food to eat
And Joe said that he would sell his soul
For just a piece of meat
Water enough to drink for two
And Joe said to me, "I'll have a swig
And then there's some for you."

Timothy, Timothy, Joe was looking at you
Timothy, Timothy, God what did we do?

I must have blacked out just around then
'Cause the very next thing that I could see
Was the light of the day again
My stomach was full as it could be
And nobody ever got around
To finding Timothy
Timothy...
