i think it's a nice idea to look back through your family tree and keep a name alive, even if it's not in its original form.
or even names that are significant to the area where you live (although they have got a bad rap recently because of Brooklyn beckham) |

I really like the name Tristan.
Our son is named Aidan and last week at the pool we met a family with a boy with the same name. We got to chatting and the husband was saying he had liked that name for a long time, even before he met his wife. They spell it Ayden because the mom is Turkish and that's a city (I think) there.
I thought that was a neat way of honoring the bi-cultural thing. |

The wife always liked Ethan...but somehow we ended up with Joe, Jack and Jeff....
