Just curious...did you know him? Or, if not, how did you know of him?

EDIT: Sorry...I wasn't meaning to be nosy! and I just went back to the blog and saw at the top it said that he was a journalist.

I'm very sorry for your loss.

He was a friend of a friend originally, and I knew him through the local media (I used to do unpaid work for them).
His death wasn't unexpected, and he'd been prepared for it (or as prepared as you can be), but it still came as a shock this morning.

Thanks for your kind words :)

Well, I think no matter how much you prepare, it is always difficult when the time comes.
I hope you will find peace and comfort soon.

it is amazing how brave people can be, and retain their sense of humour is the face of such pain and tragedy.
Im sorry for your loss and to all of his friends and family. I trust that his work and dedication will live on through all those around him

Strangely enough, I'm finding some comfort in Chesney Hawkes' song:

The One and Only

One of Adrian's chosen songs for 'desert island discs'

It has been blasting out of my house today, the neighbours must think we're mad.

No one inspires me, I guess I'm just not that ambitious.

Sure I admire lots of people but only for certain things, just because I admire someone's talent I try not to let it distract me from the fact that they may be a pure and utter arsehole of the highest order... Ice T, Bob Dylan, John Lennon, Morrissey, Mani, Oliver Reed, Richard Harris, Peter Cook, etc...

I once saw a guy on Oprah who learned to read in his 90s. Incredible. It made me feel like a jerk for ever feeling like I'm too old to learn something new.

I read Adrian's blog only recently. I'm sorry to hear he has passed away. He seemed a very inspirational person, but its just so sad that people have to go through this kind of thing. It feels unfair...

You working your way through the board, there?

I don't think anybody inspires me tbh. My drive comes from myself and not from anyone else, maybe not the best thing but never mind.

This makes me want to listen to Inspiral Carpets now. Yum.
