I dont know what happened. Last week it was in the 30s (umm, 80s?) and suddently this week it has been 13..14 everyday (60s? I dont know my temp conversions).
For some reason it usually has this weird freaky week of warmth right around thanksgiving though. So i will expect to be wearing shorts on Oct 13th.
To quote Jason Mraz when i saw him in Ottawa in the 2nd week of October a couple years ago when it was scotching out: "This is canada. I packed long sleeve shirts for this. WTF?" (he literally said the letters "W. T. F." made it even funnier.

Oh and Halloween. I LOVE halloween.

Aww, Inn. What a delightful name! You should start a hotel. The Inn Inn.

Yeah, it's really cold here today too. I've got on cords, long sleeved tee and a lil sweater/jacket thingy over it and I'm still chilly.

Awww Mraz man.

How cold do your winters get?
How hot are your summers?
Just averagely, I mean.

Who knows, maybe you did wish me a happy anniversary in July! I know I got lots of well wishes. Anyway it's us who are ridiculously belated.

Kristy, I really like your idea about the Inn Inn. I'll get started on that as soon as I take care of the Canadianish money issue.

Kayte, your hubby's birthday tradition sounds like so much fun!! I've never had an apple cinnamon doughnut but I imagine it's really really good. I love making apple pies.

They're probably just cinnamon/sugar doughnuts, but everything from the cider mill has that sort of appley taste to it, ya know? We bought some last year, still warm...mmmmm. We ate them in the car on the way home. Which was very messy and I don't recommend it for people who like to keep the interiors of their vehicles clean, but Yummmm.

Apple pie is my thing, like my specialty. I love it when old ladies taste my apple pie and ask me what is my secret for a flaky crust or what kind of apples I use. I feel so smug inside. That's sad isn't it?

Buenos Aires has a mild weather, so we shouldn't get too cold winters or too hot summers. This year has been warmer though, and I hate it.
This winter in Buenos Aires was a disappointment because it wasn't really too cold. I hope next year will be more like last year's winter (it snowed for the first time in 80 years and I loved it!). Generally temperature varies between 0ºC when it's very cold and 15 - 18ºC. This winter temperatures were hardly ever lower than 8ºC, which sucked. It was like a prolonged fall.

Summers: from 25ºC to 35ºC. Last summer was particularly hot. 25ºC would have been a blessing. Temperatures were always higher than 29ºC.
Did I mention I hate summer?

Anne, I think Kristy's idea about the Inn Inn is pretty good :oP

It's sadder that I can totally relate. When Dougie raved about my banana bread it was a very wonderful moment for me, which is kind of pathetic. I only admit this because I am sure you would feel the same way if he liked your pie. (which I'm sure he would)

We'll have to PM to compare notes about crusts.

Perhaps the Inn Inn will only accept Canadianish money. Perhaps the Inn Inn should then be in Canadaish Land. It can be the Inn Inn Eh.

You made banana bread for Dougie? awesome. I luuuuurve banana bread.
Im not going to comment about how "if he liked your pie" sounds kinda disturbing, lol

and in unrelated news, my skirt has major static cling today.

All of your ideas for the Inn Inn are fantastic. Excuse me, the Inn Inn Eh. And yes, it WILL only accept maple leaf shaped Canadianish money.

I made banana bread for the whole band and gave it to Neil when I met them at the radio station. I told him it was for everybody and that he better share. (the way his eyes lit up made me a little suspicious that he might not!)

After the show when I was talking to Dougie I asked if Neil shared it and got all excited and said he had some with his afternoon tea and it was superb.

And you are naughty dirty bird for reading anything into my pie comment. This is why your skirt is staticy today. To punish you.

Man, i should make them treats! Hmm, something canadian specific. Hmm, maple something or other? I love that you told him he had to share, hahaha. As if he was one of your kids. "You better share with your friends, or no drumming for you tonight, mister!"
Hahaha, okay, im a naughty dirty bird and that is why my skirt is staticy. Fair enough!
I had an idea. As an act of environmental friendliness, should Canadianish money be printed on actual maple leaves? Fallen ones of course. It would save so much paper! And each one would be unique and beautiful. Money will literally grow on trees. there might be a littlecounterfeit issue, but other than that!

My sharing edict just shows the mom in me. But I recognized that gleam in his eye. I've seen it in my kids' eyes when they are looking at something they don't want to share.

You should make something. Or bring them a maple candy. I've had those before and they were tasty. It was basically sugar and maple syrup. It was, of course, maple leaf shaped.

About the money, I like it. To prevent crumbling, I suggest we laminate it. Then people can just write the amount they want it to be worth with a dry erase marker. I can't imagine any downside to this idea.

That maple shaped candy is harder to find than you might think! They do have it in Ottawa at this outdoor market, though. Sadly, they dont sell it on every street corner though. Sometimes you can get the lollipop version. they are fun. Oh, and at Parliament! I got some along with my Pierre Trudeau bookmart. I LOVE giftshops.
Dry erase, laminated leaves sounds like the best idea ever. You are right, no downside at all. And think of how easy it will be for parents to get their kids to rake!

Bummer about the candy but I guess it makes it more special. It really is good.

I know my Candianish money will not only help the economy, but encourage tidier neighborhoods as people rake leaves more readily.
