Yes, they could very well do that, but it's also convenient to look over and see "Oh! Chat thread is bumped to the top...someone must be in there!"
You sure do like to complain about stuff.

Yup, it's helpful when it is bumped. You know ahead of time who is there, if someone is there, etc. And sometimes you have no plans on going into the chat, but see that someone is in there that you would like to talk to so you go over.
It is quite handy when someone bumps this thread, i find. |

It wasn't a complaint. I said I've never understood why people bump threads except for the whole "I'm here, I want some attention" thing, and I wondered if you could explain it. You did.
