Arrived back from Aviemore today which is away at the top of Scotland and where the artwork designers decided to shoot the photography for The Man Who.
I was going to stay in Scotland and see my mum and my friends but had to come back in order to prepare for the 'Writing to reach You' video which is due to be shot next Tuesday and Wednesday.
So touch down and straight in a taxi to a 'special effects' workshop where I had a cast made of my front and back.
They were the people who did all the effects for 'Saving Private Ryan', the most recent Stephen Spielberg film. I was asking them if they met him and they had and he was a cool guy. He's one of my favourite directors. I like his no bullshit approach to film making.
So they're going to take this cast and make a fibreglass body plate which is gonna be sewn into the lining of one of two identical jackets which I have to get tomorrow in London. The reason for the 'stunt jacket' is simply to protect my streamline frame from six arrows which are going to be shot at my back and chest.
If you think that's a bit extreme I also have rocks chucked at my head and I'm shot at by a world war II spitfire which is gonna fly 20 feet above my head like Cary Grant in 'North by North West'. Danger is my middle name.
