It's been a while so apologies for any rustiness on my blogging skills.
Day 5 starts as every day on Giske has started for me, two brisk laps round the island to get my motors running and then a bit of a jam in the live room with Dougie and some loop pedals (we have been putting bits and pieces of our jams and covers up on our 'Travis Cloud" soundcloud page if you want to check them out:

Can't believe it's day 5 already, and onto track number 4, one of Fran's songs called 'Reminder'. It's an absolute gem of a song, one of the catchiest things he has ever written (as Fran would say, a real earworm.)
The demo that Fran did for the song has a really great vibe so it is decided to use it as the main basis of the track.
I wont bore you with technical details, but most of the rest of the day after this is taken up with transferring files from one computer to another and all the ensuing fun and headaches that this entails!
With this going on there really isn't much to do in the studio today, so me and Nick go for a drive into the nearby town of Alesund. The drive there is quite something, through huge tunnels hewn into the mountains, Van Halen on the car stereo (turned up blisteringly loud obviously.)
Once in town we stock up on necessary provisions....well wine and more wine, and head back to the studio with more Van Halen blasting.
In the evening Fran's good friend Bernt arrives from Oslo with a much needed microphone cable fed exed from Berlin. His journey wasn't without drama as the plane he was flying in had to land again after take off when a bird flew into it's engine so we are very glad to see him here in one piece.
Bernt is an amazing guy and he is the reason we have found this wonderful place to make a record, it was him who first intoduced Fran to the Sommerfesten and all the wonderful peeps who run this studio.
Fran nails some amazing vocals on the track and then it is time for a few well deserved drinks with Bernt and Ante from the studio.
The four tracks we have done so far really sound amazing, there is something special going on and I can't wait to get stuck in to the rest of this album...
