Woke up today at 9. First day waking in Giske. The view from my window (first couple of pics) is serene. At night I lie and watch the Milky Way swirling in the heavens above my bed. It's epic.

The sea was still today so I snuck out with a mic and recorded the waves. There's a definite kind of peace here (before the band wake up) and being from a loud city the silence is welcome (until the band wake up).

Highlight of the day was watching our crewman Nick Freemantle run into the ice cold water as part of a birthday message for his girl. The noises he made were pure animal and had us pissing our pants. The water is about 5 degrees... It's a pretty bracing shock to the system. He's going to do it each day now with me. It's our goal to get the rest of the band to join us before the end of the session. Neil is a definite. Andy is too. Dougie is not so sure but I think he may do it under the right conditions.

I ran again with Andy. We ran 10km. I have one of these fancy Nike watches which, when you plug them into your computer, show you where you ran, how fast, how long, your heart rate... it makes running a little less boring. Another thing I started doing was run names in the streets of Berlin- picture attatched. Nerdy yes.

In the studio we got the first track pretty much finished recording backing vocals and vocals and percussion and Nashville tuned guitar and little bits and bobs. Relating studio goings on is a bit boring to describe. Yeah man we totally nailed that tambo section Wooohoo! High 5!!! Ha!

There's alot of spare moments while others are tracking. I've been taking pictures of the surrounding area to pass my time. Some are attatched. I gonna hit the hay now so bid y'all farewell for now.
