Dear Travis and Fran,

I never imagined that, 26 years after I first discovered your music, I would have the chance to see you again in my hometown of Querétaro.

My story with Travis began in 2000, when I broke my femur. During a very difficult time in my life, I started listening to a lot of music, and Travis became a very important part of it. Your songs helped me through those days.

My first Travis concert was on February 7, 2004, in Mexico City. I remember that night very clearly. I had already written to you before just to say thank you for what your music meant to me.

Then, in 2011, I was diagnosed with cancer. Around that same time, my son was born. Once again, your music was there with me through one of the hardest chapters of my life.

Years later, I got married, and there was one song that had to be part of that day: “Closer.” ❤️

My wife’s name is Indira, and she has always stood beside me through everything. Your music has been part of our story, and in a very special way, it brought us together.

After moving to Querétaro, I couldn’t travel to Mexico City for your concerts anymore. But this year is very special. My son saved money and bought tickets for my wife and me to see Travis at Pulso GNP in Querétaro, because we are celebrating 20 years since we met.

I made these shirts for us because “Just need to be Closer” means so much to our story. The photo I’m attaching was taken when I was going through the hardest part of my cancer treatment.

So I would like to ask you for one little favor.

If you play “Closer” in Querétaro, could you please say:

“This one is for Indira, from José Luis.”

It would mean more to us than I could ever explain.

Thank you, Travis, for being part of my life for so many years. Your music has been there through pain, recovery, love, family, and some of the most important moments of my life.
