Scotland and The Knicks

Stayed up last night to watch Scotland V Haiti with the man without whom you would never have heard of Travis. Andy MacDonald. Andy signed us to his label, Independiente, 30 years ago. 28 years ago, while we were beginning to record what would become The Man Who, in Normandy, Andy called and said he had tickets for the first match of the ‘98 World Cup. Scotland vs Brazil at the Stade De France. It was such a brilliant day. Brazil beat us 2-1 which was fine.
So last night, 28 years down the line, and fighting off sleep, Andy and I sat again watched our team win their first World Cup game in 36 years! Then we switched over and watched another milestone. The Knicks winning the nba championship for the first time since 1973! Knicks fans have been waiting longer than us!! Watching Scotland fans celebrate in Boston and Newyorkers going bananas on the streets of Manhattan was pure magic. Looking forward to the next World Cup match. Congratulations New York.
