Does anyone here like traveling? I don’t travel much myself, so I’m here to collect some suggestions.🫡 I’d love to know which places you personally find the most beautiful or the most fun, and what kind of local food you’d recommend. Or even just a place that makes you feel peaceful and comfortable — that’s totally fine. Feel free to recommend your own hometown too! 🥺
Also, have you had any unforgettable moments while traveling — funny, touching, anything really. I’d love to hear them!
I’ll be using your experiences as references for my future travels.Any suggestions?

The best place to eat in Mexico is Oaxaca, it’s a great state, a lot of food and nice people, but my favourite place is Nayarit (now know as Punta Mita resorts), but there are many other beaches. Including the largest one in America the sea is warm almost whole year and they have a lot of good sea dishes.
There’s a place called San Luis Potosí and have one of the most surreal places: Xilitla, also known as Edward James Sculpture Garden in the middle of the jungle nearby waterfall and natural pools… Just a unforgettable experience! Where are you from Rayy?

Hi Erika, thank you for sharing! I’ve always wanted to try Mexican food but never had the chance. The places you recommended sound amazing — I looked them up and saw so many delicious dishes that made my mouth water.🤤 I’d also love to visit that sculpture garden someday. Already added it to my wish list.🥰
As for where I’m from — I’m from Amoy (Xiamen), China. It’s a tiny little island city. We have beaches too, but they’re all very small… which makes me dream even more of those huge beaches you mentioned!😂 I hope that one day I’ll be able to visit all the places you’ve recommended. Thanks again for all the great suggestions!

Hey, Rayyy. I think you’d love “pozole” or “menudo/pancita”. I used to be a Spanish as Foreign Language teacher, and I had a lot of Chinese students. When they visited Mexico, they usually told me those were their favorite foods. Look them up and tell me what you think.

AHHHH I can’t stop drooling.🤤 It’s 1 AM in China right now and seeing these two dishes you recommended has made me so hungry I’m crying! I can tell you with full confidence — these are absolutely the kind of food I would love. My hometown has specialty soups with rich, bold flavors and lots of spices just like pozole(it’s usually used to make a noodle soup, we call it Shacha noodles), and also soups made with tripe like menudo. Those are all my favorites!!! I will definitely try these two dishes one day!😫❤️Thanks for the recommendation.

Hello Ray. I travel quite often. My favourite place on earth and every time I go feels like home is Scotland. Edinburgh in particular. Second one is definitely Paris and third Hamburg. I really want to travel to Japan though

Hello Arzu! Thank you for making me even more determined to visit Scotland someday. I’ll let you know how it goes when I finally make that dream happen. I’d also love to go to Paris — a friend of mine actually recommended a patisserie there called Stohrer just the other day. Hope I get to try it someday. And Japan! I’ve been wanting to visit the Tower Records in Tokyo for so long… I feel like we’re the kind of people who would love the same kinds of places. Thank you so much for sharing.🥰xxx

I absolutely fell in love with cold places! I’ve been to Iceland twice (saw the Northern Lights last August!), fell in love with the Snaefellsnes peninsula, plus the wild landscape. I also went to Svalbard last year because I had it on my bucket list to see Walrus. Longyearbyen feels like a Wild West town but in the Arctic circle – and the air is so crisp and cool. I’m off to Tromso in October, and next year I’m hoping to see polar bears in Churchill as part of a Canada’s Big Five safari (a few days in Riding Mountain to see moose, bison, and black bears, then up to Churchill for beluga whales and hopefully polar bears). I’ve always struggled with anxiety, and being a bit of a homebody, but getting to see wild places with my camera feels very healing, and for whatever reason my brain seems to gel with the Arctic! My friends and family always find it so odd how I can be so anxious about daily life but happily take myself off to these places (often solo as well)!
Unforgettable moments: seeing my first walrus – I could have cried! We also went on a boat trip to a glacier front in Svalbard, and that moment when the boat engine switched off and it was just total peace and stillness counts as one of the most calming moments I ever experienced! In Reykjavik I also did a whale watching tour and a humpback came right up to our boat – also just total awe and appreciation for wildlife in that moment. The first time I went to Iceland I went to the Katla ice cave with my sister, and that landscape is so beautiful. The contrast of the snow against the black ash is stunning. On that trip we flew over the active volcano in a helicopter, which was once in a lifetime, but the ice cave stole the show for me.
It’s definitely about wild, untamed, cold places for me!

Wow… I could feel the chill from your words, but it feels so refreshing! I’m so jealous that you got to see the Northern Lights in Iceland — that’s on my wish list too.
I completely understand you. It’s easy to feel anxious in a narrow, confined space (it reminds me of Fran singing ‘We live in boxes’ haha). Embracing the wild and untamed nature is how we free ourselves!
Speaking of encounters with animals — I’ve had a similar experience too. This past February, I went to Qiqihar, and a friend who lives there took me to see red-crowned cranes in the freezing snow. We were lucky enough to watch them take flight — it was spectacular. Nature is truly amazing, isn’t it?
Thank you for sharing! I hope you get to see the polar bears and all the other animals you’re hoping for. Say hi to them for me 🥺

That sounds like a perfect life that only exists in dreams… I’ll keep that in mind, and if I ever get the chance, I’ll go and see it for myself.🥰 Thanks for sharing! Wishing you a happy life there.❤️
