Hello everyone! I’m new here, but I’ve been a fan of the band since around 2013. I wanted to start a topic that is really interesting to me and also get to know all of you a bit better.
I was wondering if you have any favorite single tracks, B-sides, or lesser-known Travis songs that you love just as much as the main album tracks?
This band has always had so many great songs and some of them have truly become hidden gems for me.
My favorites include:
* My number ONE will always be *When I’m Feeling Blue (Days of the Week)*. It was the first “hidden” song I discovered, and I still love it and listen to it from time to time. It doesn’t just describe a feeling of sadness—it feels like a whole emotional state. It’s a real song-emotion for me. I remember that when I found it, I was younger and, unfortunately, often in a rather melancholic mood. It really resonated with me then. But, also I jokingly call it “English for beginners.”😅 I’m not a native speaker and I may not know or sometimes forget certain words, but thanks to this song I will never forget the names of the days of the week.🤣🤣
* *Coming Around* and *Walking in the Sun* are in second place. When I first started discovering this band, I wanted to listen to everything they had released before, and I found these songs—and never let them go. They are some of the brightest songs ever for me! They also have great music videos.
* This spring I was in a very depressed mood, so I accidentally discovered songs like *Chances* and *Avalon*. I listened to them many times, and they helped me recover and keep going in life. These are short songs, but each one is powerful in its own way. I was really surprised I hadn’t known *Chances* before—it felt like it appeared exactly when I needed it most. “We all take risks every day”—that line really stayed with me and kept me going. The song *Avalon* doesn’t quite sound like their usual style, which I found very interesting. For me personally, it feels like it takes us from where we don’t want to be to where we want to be. Maybe they intended a different meaning, but that`s how it feels to me.
* Finally, my latest discovery—literally from just a few days ago—is *Standing on My Own*. I really like Fran’s lively, slightly trembling voice, and in general, the lyrics and music make it feel like we’re witnesses to this story.Thank you, Travis, for these hidden treasures,🤗 and thank you all for reading. Maybe you’ll also share your favorite hidden songs.❤️

Hi Julia! Thank you for starting this topic — I’m a huge B‑side lover, and Travis has so many amazing B‑sides and hidden tracks 😍 I’ve been obsessively looping the TRAVIS ROCK and TRAVIS ROLL compilations lately. Here are some of my favourites and why I love them:
“The Sea” – This song has a similar vibe to “Last Train”. I love both of them. They make me feel as cozy as hiding under a blanket on a cold, gloomy day.
“The Distance” & “Ring Out The Bell” – Okay, honestly I absolutely love every song Dougie sings because I’m a HUGE Dougie fan haha. His voice is just too beautiful 😭❤️
There are so many others I love too, like “No Cigar”, “High As A Kite”, “Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah” and “We Are Monkeys”. My reason for loving all of them is the same: they’re just way too cute! Every time I listen, my mood lifts and I can’t help but smile 🥰🥰
I’m planning to give the songs you shared a few more listens later. Maybe I’ll have some new thoughts about them too. Thanks again for sharing! xx

Hi Rayyy! Nice to meet you. 😊
Thanks to you, I listened to *The Sea* — and oh my God, it’s AMAZING!
I already knew *The Distance*, and it’s such a great song. Dougie’s voice always sounds so sincere to me.
I absolutely love the lyrics of *Ring Out The Bell* — it’s such an emotional and heartfelt song. And I really love those little moments of conversation left in the recordings. 😁
I also discovered *No Cigar* relatively recently, and it made me laugh so much. 😅 I love it when they’re funny! *High As A Kite* and *Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah* are such energetic songs too. 🤟🏻
And thank you for recommending *We Are Monkeys*! It really lifted my mood and made me laugh, but at the same time — wow, it’s so accurate! It touches on exactly the kind of things I’ve been thinking about lately.Thank you as well for these little discoveries. I had a lot of fun listening to them. ❤️

When I’m Feeling Blue is great! Honestly, most of the b-sides are! Love Standing on My Own. Did you notice that it has some of the same lyrics as “Selfish Jean”? I always found that fun.
Coming Around is an awesome song, it feels so breezy and flows so well. I feel like it gets forgotten easily, I guess because it doesn’t belong on an album. But fun fact: it’s Travis’s second highest charting song in the UK! Would love to see it pop back on some setlists.
A favourite ‘rare’ song of mine is Sarah – from the J. Smith EP. Check it out, beautiful song.

I really miss B-sides in physical singles.
Travis has a lot of good B-sides, I specially love Used To Belong, The Sea and Definition Of Wrong.
I also love Blue Flasing Light, the hidden song of The Man Who. -

When I found out about b-sides, I used to listen to them on repeat all the time. There are two that are not usually mentioned but I really liked them back then (and still) – Combing my hair and The Reason. It’s been a long time since I’ve listened them all, I need to dive in to the Rock and Roll compilations.
