Hi all,
Im loving reading all the comments and sharing all the travis love!! I have loved travis since I was 15 (in 1999…eek) and my sister introduced me to ‘the man who’…I was hooked! I remember watching Travis live at Glastonbury 2000 on the tv in my bedroom wishing desperately I was there! If only I had not been 16 and living a million miles away in Lincolnshire.
Me and my sister remain devoted fans to this day and have seen you play numerous times since and even had the pleasure of meeting you a couple of occasions too. Once I had the winning ticket to meet you back stage at Lincoln theatre Royal. Fran and Andy where doing an acoustic set (which was amazing by the way). Do you think you will do anything like that again?
We also met Fran and Adam Buxton (who I have also loved since I was 15!) After the showing of ‘almost fashionable’ at Charles cinema in London! I was very pregnant with my 3rd child, he is 7 now and sorry to say we didnt go with Lois Lowiss as you suggested and named him Eddie instead.
Anyway, although we have so many great Travis memories to choose from I still think the best gig we went to was one at Sheffield when you replayed ‘The Invisible Band’. It was the first gig we went to after covid and lockdown had ended and it just hit differently! It was like we were hearing live music again for the first time, the crowd were so energetic and the music sounded awesome. It helps that I also love that album and reminds me of meeting my husband at 17 and doing my A-levels,the best time in life! I remember listening to pipe dreams whist studying and very much resonating with the line ‘I read it all, every word and I still dont understand a thing!’
Looking forward to hearing and sharing more memories.
Jenny x
