Neato.

I was getting excited listening to the radio this morning as they were talking about SXSW. Spoon is doing a free concert outside next week which I am hoping I can check out (need to figure out which night it is)

Also they were mentioning some British bands that are coming. There are some names I've read on this board. I need to check out the line up and perhaps get some boardie input.

I like them both. Just out of curiosity have you heard anything from them before, or just searching out new things? Should we recommend a song or two?

I don't think I've heard them before (possible I have and didn't realize it since I'm generally crap with band names)

They are both coming to SXSW so I am trying to decide if they are worth the trouble of trying to go see them. I don't have a wristband so it might not even be possible.

I was just listening to an acoustic set the Wombats did on Virgin Radio. It was OK but the lead singer had tonsilitis so it wasn't the best.

Yes please recommend some songs. That would be helpful.

For the Wombats I like Moving to New York, and Let's Dance to Joy Division

and Vampire Weekend...

Hmmm, Oxford Comma, A-punk, maybe I'm partial to Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa though.

there's this tooooo,

The South Austin Museum of Popular Culture will feature an exhibit of Frank Kozik's music posters (mainly ones done for concerts in Austin) opening March 8th. Musical entertainment by Butcherwhite. Reception on the 8th starts at 79pm and the band will begin at 8pm. Come see some very cool posters, including early work done for a local toy store, Atomic City, in the late 80s. The exhibit will run through May 3rd.

Museum hours: Thursday through Sunday 1-6pm or by appointment, which means we are basically open anytime someone wants to show up.

I was just checking the gig calendar and Vampire Weekend's shows on Mar. 22&23 are SOLD OUT here in San Francisco! Wow, they're really popular around here.
