Is it not a prize for song-writing?

Not sure originality enters into it, but I'm sure it helps.

Still..... Maps to win!

Song-writing originality? I don't know, maybe i've misunderstood the concept (what else is new!)

Well you can write a great song without it being very original.

Some could argue parts of Selfish Jean aren't exactly original but it's still a great song (or most folk here would agree), and so an example of good songwriting.

Originality for me is something like Broken Social Scene or Guillemots, someone that is constantly inventing and making use of new sounds.

Then again, they could be looking at lyrical and musical song-writing together. So whilst the words might not be highly original, the music could still sound fairly original- and vice versa.

Ivor Novello is for song-writing isn't it?

They should be buried alive for not recognising Patrick Wolf's album.

Maps are awesome. I was going to multiply their album today. Should I still?
