For off, this is a random post, nothing Travis related about it all. But writing it down where people can give their advice just makes sense to me right now.
Anyway, in an attempt to make a very boring and long story somewhat shorter, let's just say that I'm interested in this guy who works at a grocery store that I go to and now frequently try to go there more often for the obvious reasons he might be there.
This guy has caught me eye big time and although we haven't actual talked other than the passing "hello" which I'm sure he's obligated to say to every customer, I think there may be something more. Well I'd like to believe that anyway. Maybe I'm just pathetically desperate to find a love.
Anyway, back to the reason why I'm even writing this. I'd like to know some advice on how I can get the said worker's attention. He's not a cashier, he's more of a manager type that lurks around the store.
I pretty much know where everything is in the store, so it would pretty stupid to ask him where something is located. How should I say something that lets him know that I'm interested in him without making it too awkward? Is it possible?
I told you this was a boring scenario. Any advice you - whatever the hell it might be - I'd appreciate it greatly. I suspect some of you have been a similar postion, though not necessarily in the grocery store of course.

Wherever you see him in the store, ask him where something is on the complete other side (I know you know but just pretend) and try and make it obscure so he'll feel obligated to walk with you. Or ask for if they have an organic brand of something he wouldn't know off the top of his head.
Something to where you'll have to walk together in the store. Then you could just ask him how long he's worked there or some non-threatening question. Just be chatty and see how he responds. This could also be a chance to see if he's married or with someone before you make some big move.
If you do this once or twice you might have a better sense of whether or not he's interested in you and then you can maybe ask him out. I bet you'll have to do it because he's probably not allowed to ask someone out but could say yes if someone asked him. |

Thanks for all the responses. You know your answers all make sense and I want to persue this. I sound like a stalker now, but I can gurantee that I am not.
Back to the point though, the only thing is that I'm pretty shy at starting up conversations and making them last when it comes to this - which is a weakness that is probably holding me back the most. |
