Anyone else read it?
Like the Bible I've spent a large amount of time reading it - unfortunately, as with the Bible, I'm finding that people who claim to read it, actually just read one passage here and there, or read a book every now and again - whats wrong with reading the whole thing, front to back, linearly - at least that way it is all put into proportion and perspective.
To sum up, the quo'ran is equally harmful, abusive, sexist, racist, horrifying as the bible, but perhaps slightly more sensible. Its worse in the fact that its difficult to get a copy where the translater hasn't dedicated about 1/3 of each page giving you the 'correct interpretation' of the above passage - in other words, you have to trust what he's translating is correct and accurate.
Why isn't it enough that its been translated into english - why does the english translation also need a translation? Can't we just read it and take it as is?

Or perhaps it's that translation from one language to another isn't always a perfect translation. Deja Vu ? Schadenfraud (sp?) ? Zeitgiest ? Or perhaps it's that when translating, esopecially in English you should refain from using terms like He' She, Their, etc. as it is easy to misconstrue a sentence. For example...
Question "Are you sure Lisa Doesn't smoke?"
Answer "No" does that me no Lisa doesn't smoke or no you are not sure ??
Answer "Yes" yes Lisa does smoke, or yes you're sure Lisa doesn't ??
Try writing the minutes of a meeting using he/she said instead of using full titles, it gets quite confusing.
as for the phrase "thicker than you", what do you mean, fat ? wide ? dense ? academically challenged ? diminished common sense ? ignorant (which is a great word when not used as a derogatory term) ? or can't you think of a more descriptive term ?
