Im not sure it is 100% effective, but I appreciate their effort at trying to make the Oscars less stiff/younger and kinda...laughing at itself (mocking the lack of attention comedies get, etc). Although having those High School Musical kids there is sad.

And I agree Lauren, that speech was genious.

Yeah it was painful watching that Robert Pattinson dude. Absolutely unbearable. I almost left the room. But the ceremony is surprisingly... good. I just wish Jon Stewart was hosting again...

It was neck to neck. They kind of split the award pool. Mickey got all of the overseas prizes (Golden Globes (hosted by the Hollywood foreign press) & BAFTA) Sean Penn got the US awards (SAGs) so I guess it kind of fell into place.
