The TV licencing company effectively force people into purchasing the licence. My family once owned an unoccupied house which had some furniture in, including a portable telly (without an aerial), we had to pay the fee because they could see the telly through the window so they thought we were using it. Despite telling them it didn't have an aerial and that they were welcome to come and look if they could give us a specific time to view it they told us they were taking us to court if we didn't pay.
We paid
But later claimed it back.
Though I wonder how many people don't bother to fight their decision. It takes time, and not to mention a huge amount of patience when speaking to such idiots.

The only thing I'm ashamed of is inadvertently switching to BBC1 last Friday night at 10.35pm and maybe bumping Ross's viewing figures by 1. Seriously, I felt sick afterwards.

The way I seen things is this.
Brand and Ross who both had books out last week will see sales rocket.
Andrew Sachs will get a shitload of voiceover work and..
His daughther and The Satanic Sluts will get a stack of bookings.

Shit; talk about a situation escalating. The issue is going to be put to the P.M. at Prime Minister's Questions. They only have time to ask something like a dozen questions. How the Hell can they justify using one of those questions for this?
