I saw The King's Speech the other day. I really liked it. It's a nice story, and the performances of Colin Firth and Geoffrey Rush are excellent. However, I'm uncomfortable with the lack of historical accuracy, particularly when it comes to the character of Churchill. And then of course, there's the fact that I'm not prone to feel any kind of empathy towards a monarch.
But anyway, at least this movie (unlike The Queen) tells an interesting "privet" story and is not as obvious.
Wouldn't be surprised if The King's Speech won a lot of Oscars.

Utter shite, unbelievable storylines and plot. A very young Viggo Mortenson struggles with the badly written script and the bit actors are even worse.

I like that people post about literally the last movie they saw, not just the last one that is buzz or award worthy.
I don't think I'd ever choose to watch the above movie anyway but it's handy to hear about movies people think are crap so I can avoid them.
Sunday night we watched
It was...interesting. I didn't love it but it had funny moments and I appreciated its quirkiness. The end got a bit dragged out. Still enjoyable though. |

The Bourne Identity. (Yes, I see movies much later than the rest of the world. I let them mellow a bit. And I rent them from the library.) If it weren't for Matt Damon, I don't think I would have liked it at all. It was just too impossible. Like the car chase scene...they're driving, completely blocked in...but then the camera angle changes and they've somehow miraculously done a 180 and maneuvered around a police car and they're back on the road. And can you really shoot a guy while you're falling down a stairwell using another falling dead guy to cushion the impact? I don't know about you, but I'm just not that coordinated.
That being said, I'll still probably see the other two unless they get worse. |

I tend to treat the "Bourne" series more like James Bond than a serious thriller, I think you get more enjoyment out of them. The books were written by Ludlum and the similarity ends with the name of the title character. The books are huge multi layered serious spy thrillers. That said, whomever wrote the screen plays did well, the story flows. If you do get around to watching the other two you should enjoy them, Identity & Supremacy are "stand alone" films which loosely tie together but Ultimatum is very closely tied with Supremacy so much so that some of the action takes place in both films.
Not as quirky or as funny as I remember it, it's a bit pretentious but not bad.
and I forgot it has this track at the end which was used for an advert in Ireland but I'm fucked if I can remember what for.

Not bad for wasting an hour and a half, solid performances from Freeman & Cusack in what is basically an action flick.

I'm pretty sure my dad was an extra in the movie Rushmore. (he's been an extra is a lot of stuff so sometimes I lose track.)
I'll try and ask him which scene he was in so you can look out for him if you watch it again. |

| They're asking for extras for a movie being shot in Ann Arbor called "The Ides of March." That is my birthday. It would be fun to apply for that, but I can't. |

I thought this film would be pants as it was recommended by my sister and the fact it has rene zwelliger in it. However, it's a half decent film and worth a watch. If you get the chance to see it on sky give it a go.

Very dated (1963) and quite cheesey in places (the biker gang and their Black Leather song is amusing these days)... However a half decent story line, which has been done to death since but is well cast/directed here. I imagine that as this film was released just after the Cuban Missile Crisis it must have been Sh!t scary, possible more a psychological thriller these days. I enjoyed it.

Very good, well Jean Reno is in it so it must be, Vincent Cassel is also excellent, It's like se7en in places, murders where clue leads to the next body. Personally I think a some of the action could have been left out making it an out and out thriller rather than part action movie, In French with English subtitles, there is probably a fair bit lost in translation, subtle nuances and whatnot, I would recommend seriously just perservere with the subtitles.
