more from New Scientist:
GOOD news for premenstrual women. If you're feeling tense, as little as half a glass of wine could relax you.
A team led by Sheryl Smith of the SUNY Downstate Medical Center in New York treated rats with hormones to make them "premenstrual". They found that the rats had abnormally high amounts of a specialised brain receptor activated both by alcohol and by allopregnanolone, a "feel-good" hormone that slumps in concentration before menstruation. Smith speculates in Nature Neuroscience (DOI: 10.1038/nn888) that alcohol does the same job as the depleted hormone, and has a heightened effect before periods because the brain makes more receptors than usual to capture what little hormone is available. |

Well, if we're being frank. Poor Mr T runs away and hides for about a week before. I am horrible, and I just can't help it.
Matters are made worse by having 2 hormonal daughters. There is rarely a week when someone isn't suffering either pmt or the real thing. The male cats in the house keep the balance and keep him sane!
It's been better since I introduced Evening Primrose Oil and Magnesium 6 into my life! And I do recommend them both :) |

Yes, you're lucky. Nothing to do with having kids.

I read somewhere that females that live together often have the same cycle, because their bodies tune in to the same "frequency".
Gee, this is a bit of a nasty thread to be honest... lol |

It's got something to do with hormones and feromones, it's quite facinating actually |
