Haha! Thanks. I've kinda pushed it to extremes here but I'm still getting used to it. It should really be a bit more subtle I'm thinking. |

Thanks! I'll take credit for the photos. The house and the decor is all down to my other half! |

Elfy, you're so talented!!! Are you a professional photographer? Do you sell your stuff or work for the media? Or is it just a hobby? |

Just a hobby I'm afraid. If I could make money at it I wouldn't still be painting people's houses! Haha!
But thanks! |

you could totally make money selling these?
Is the technique of the football pics the same as the house? Can you give a little brief discription of how you get that? |

Well thank you for saying so. Yes, it's the same technique although I've tried to tone down the effect a little bit for these. It's called HDR and basically, when done properly, it is used to bring out the detail in both the shadows and highlights of an image (HDR stands for High Dynamic Range). Since a camera can only pick up a fraction of the range of light that our eyes can, it allows us to make an image more 'realistic'. I realise that my shots of the house don't look very realistic but I was only playing around with it and I liked the effect. Really, they should be toned down a bit and should be more subtle than that. It's done using special software (I use a program called Photomatix) which blends three separately exposed images, one underexposed, one over exposed and one perfectly exposed. Still with me? Good. Hehe! The idea is that the under exposed shot will have good detail in the highlights and the over exposed shot will have good detail in the shadows. Here's the three I used for the shot of my kitchen:
