completely agree. They get told at a VERY young age they're special and they just get carried away with it.
Can Shrek pick up a ban since the reff gave a foul?. I have no idea how the official can see that and not send him off.
If Rooney has to hit someone then i'm glad it was James McCarthy. He should have struck him considerably harder.
True, McCarthy is a bam, he's another one of these "plastic paddys" him and McGreedy deserve each other.

what was today's championship?
I think what I dont get, coming from a North American perspective, is that the same teams compete for multiple titles.
Here you are just competing for 1 trophy at the end of the year. Stanley Cup, World Series, NBA title (umm, does it have a name?), Super Bowl, etc.

The 20 best teams in England compete for the league title where every teams plays each other twice (home and away). There are also two domestic cups during the season where all teams in England get to participate. (the FA cup & the League cup)
Edit: Today was the League Cup Final. |

hey, can either of you solve my tv issue:
Im trying to see if I can get the Oscars. The people im staying with have a Sky box (they've gone to bed, can't ask them). I watched tv yesterday and had no problem, just hit the power button on the remote and on the tv came and then I just hit the guide button.
Now, I hit power and it goes to a black screen (although power light on) and nothing happens when I hit guide or anything. when i hit the power button again, the guide will come up for half a second and then the whole thing turns off.
Umm, what??? |

Today's Arsenal v Birmingham match was the League Cup Final,
The top teams compete in several competitions at once, trying for the "Double" or "Treble". Most competitions are played over the season with the finals in May after the domestic season ends.

further info on my skybox issue for anyone willing to assist:
if i switch it to "tv" it gives me bb1, bb2 and a few other channels (is that the freeview?) but when I switch back to HD (which it was originally on and it is a HD box) i get black screen.
I just want to watch the damn Oscars! |

Totally lost when it comes to Sky, I've NTL/Chorus cable, only thing I can think of is shut the system down, leave it for 30secs and restart it... possibly.

Think my laptop may be on the way out, it keeps over-heating and shutting itself down. Can't complain, had it for about 5 or 6 years now.
I've been out this morning paying bills and picking up stuff but now I'm bored at home so think I'll head out for a walk, maybe a pint.

had some grand ambitions, but it is cold and rainy and gross. Watching tv (still not Sky!), applying for jobs and eating left over tacos
edit: skybox now fixed. Apperently it needed to be rebooted. I wouldnt have known how to do that.
edit.2: I need a job. For realz. I want to get on with my life, getting a flat, etc. |

I'm a year and a bit out of work... hopefully something will turn up.
Today's news is I'm seriously pissed off and a ba' hair away from punching, smashing or breaking something. Of course someone else will see this as my reason for being a cunt today, not realizing that the reason I'm being a cunt is because the aforementioned someone has put me in that pissed off mood in the first place.
