Okay, we opened the package after lunch and tried the Bimbo Sobaos. Of course, the humorousness of a company named Bimbo was completely lost on my 6-year-old daughter.

The Sabaos were a big hit. I'm guessing these are little breakfast cakes? They have a glass of orange juice on the package, that's why I thought breakfast. Nice. Mildly sweet, but not too sweet. The baby took hers and ate it without saying a word. My son didn't try them. My older daughter ate one and said, "Mmmmm delicioso!" (I think she learned that on Dora the Explorer.) Then she asked for another one. I cleaned up the lunch dishes and was sweeping the floor and she came to me and said, "Mommy...can I have one more?" Usually, I would not let her have 3, but it was the last day of school and she had been so excited to receive a package from Spain, I told her she could.

We'll save the others for tomorrow and I'll give another report!

Can I just ask how everyone is package the biscuits? And Kayte - did yours arrive intact? I'm a bit concerned they're going to be crumbs by the time they arrive in the US!

I like "sobaos"! They're delicious! But in my opinion they taste better when you dunk them in milk.
By the way, the word "sobao" means in slang "asleep" :p

Monica, yes Julian told me about the milk. We'll try it that way today. Yesterday we just ate them.

I will tell my daughter that Sobao means asleep. (She was up asking for them first thing this morning.)

Packaging--mine arrived fine and they were just in a box with no extra cushioning material. If you have crumbly cookies, I'd add some bubble wrap or newspaper in the box. But really, the box wasn't crushed or anything. It looked very good for having such a long journey.

That's been my problem, finding an appropriate box. My mom says she has one, so I'll go over there today and get it.

Here you can buy different sizes of boxes in the post office, they also give you something to fill the box with so that what you're sending won't move.
Sandy, I'm buying your cookies today, I'll send them tomorrow morning =o) .

Yippee!!! The mail lady just knocked on my door and when I opened it she was there with a box in her hand. I said, "Is it from Spain??!!" She smiled and said, "Yes, it's from Spain! Sign here please."

So, I have my cookies. I am waiting until my daughter gets home from school to open the package.

Thanks for your speedy delivery, Julian. I can't wait to try them!

Yay! Let us know what you think!! :) I was tellin' Anne the other day that I'm a bad cookie exchange participant! I haven't gone shopping for them yet. :( This whole week has been rough, though...with no power and all. AH! I feel so out of the loop.

Edit: oops...I missed this entire page where you opened the cookies...see, told ya I'm losing it! :P

Hey Nikki! I've got your package ready to be sent! :o)
I got carried away and bought 5 different types of cookies for you, so the package is erm... a little bit heavier than I thought it'd be :oP. I'll try to send it tomorrow morning. If I can't make it, I promise the cookies will be on their way by monday!
I hope you like them! :o)
