I think it depens on people. I had to do two years the first year of German in college, and I ended up hating it. Besides, the use of prepositions was the worst. I remember they drove myself crazy. It's a good thing that finally I passed the exam :D

Haha, I love these spanish lessons. Especially some expressions from Spain that I'd never heard of! So funny! XD

I don't know what to add... What else would you like to learn besides dirty words? :oP

I can handle English, I studied French (3 years), Latin (4 years) and Greek (1 year -the only thing I remember is the alphabet) in highschool...
I can understand French but I can't write it or speak it (I could try, but I'm lousy at it). Je ne parle pas français.

I have the italian citizenship but I can't say a word in italian... bacci! Grazie! Prego!... I deffinitely must study Italian.

Wie geht es dir? Mir geht es gut.
Ich bein Julieta
(That's all I can say in german)

I think I should stick to spanish :oP

It also depends on teachers...my first english teacher told my parents i'd never speak english properly...
A couple of years later, another teacher taught our class and we all improved in a way it's hard to describe.
We also had english names which we liked a lot, we felt "english" in a way.

Some teachers are just stupid. I had a lot of fights with them in high school. Now in college I feel like I'm in heaven :p One day, I told a teacher (from uni) my arguments with my high school teachers, and she, very surprised, asked me: "and why did you choose English Philology if you have unhappy memories of English classes?" XD She was really, really fascinated LOL

I studied english and latin during High School in Spain.
I studied my senior year in the US, so I improved my english, I have forgot a lot of it though, since I don´t practice much...
I started studying french there, and continued on an off once I came back to Spain... beautiful to learn but quite hard, specially the verbs...
After that I started studying German also. It took me 4 months in the Goethe Institut of Madrid to realize it would be impossible for me to learn. I can also remember the numbers, it´s fun to count in german... :)

Don't talk to me about TEACHERS! I learnt spanish in high school and was actually interested in it as I love the language and think it is the most beautiful on the planet (lol ok stop me now), anyways we were being taught by a FRENCH woman who spoke spanish with a french accent and would freak at us for not pronouncing our words properly. We had so many arguements with her. Then she went of sick and we had about 15 substitute teachers (who didn't know spanish). It was a mess! I just about got through my GCSE exams but was gutted as I felt I was alot better than the grade I got. Then I went to Uni and in my first year did a module in Spanish (to fill my year up). It was great but an awful lot learn in a short period of time. I can get by with the basics and I find when I am on holiday I can translate most things (menus, brochures etc) but I would LOVE to be fluent and be able to make proper conversation....maybe someday :)
